Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State women's basketball squad beat the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals 72-44 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on Saturday (Dec. 8) afternoon at Jim Wink Arena in Big Rapids, Mich.
The Bulldogs dominated the first three quarters, leading 63-20 going into the final quarter.
Junior forward Lilly George led the Bulldogs with 15 points while junior center Brayenne Benner had 10 and sophomore Kelsey Wyman added nine points as did sophomore Adrienne Anderson.
The Bulldogs made 31-of-66 (47%) field goals along with a five-of-18 (27.8%) showing from the three-point line and 5-of-7 (71.4%) free throws.
The Cardinals were led by guards Maddie Maloney with 11 points and Maddie Barrie with eight points.
Saginaw Valley made 18-of-64 (28.1%) field goals, but went only two-of-29 (6.9%) from three-point range and 6-of-11 (54.5%) at the free throw line.
FSU owned a 40-22 edge on the glass in the win and produced 19 assists, seven steals and four blocked shots.
The Bulldogs are idle until Dec. 29 when they face Maryville (Mo.) on the road in non-league action at 2 p.m. (ET).
