Ferris State's Adrienne Anderson Earns GLIAC North Player Of Week Honor

Big Rapids, Mich. - Sophomore guard Adrienne Anderson (Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor Prep) of the Ferris State University women's basketball squad has claimed this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Player of the Week nod.

Anderson led the Bulldogs to a conference road sweep as FSU held onto fifth place overall in the league standings with two victories.

The second-year guard paced the Bulldogs with 30 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds, seven steals and two blocked shots in the two games combined while averaging 15.5 points, 5.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 1.0 blocks a game.

She notched 12 points with four rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks in Thursday's decisive 79-64 win at Purdue Northwest. On Saturday, she came back to total 18 points, six assists, four boards and four steals in a thrilling 79-77 win at Parkside when she scored the game-winner with only two-tenths of a second left to play.

Anderson played 37 minutes in the win over the Rangers and went 8-of-9 at the line in the win.

For the week, she converted 12-of-13 (92.3 percent) of her free throws and provided a strong presence on the defensive end.

The Bulldogs currently have a one-game lead over both Northwood and Parkside for the fifth seed for the league tournament heading into the regular-season finale.

Ferris State will visit Lake Superior State for its final regular-season contest on Thursday, Feb. 28, with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m. (ET) in Sault Ste. Marie.
