Bulldogs Fall In Double Overtime On The Road At Purdue Northwest

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's basketball squad fell in double-overtime by a 63-60 score to Purdue Northwest on Friday (Feb. 19) night in Hammond, Ind.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 20-12 lead after the first period and held a six-point lead at halftime before the Pride rallied to force overtime. After the first extra session remained tied, Purdue Northwest outscored FSU 8-5 in the second OT period to garner the win.

Freshman Kadyn Blanchard paced FSU with 16 points while sophomore Mallory McCartney added 13 points. Junior forward Zoe Anderson notched 12 points and freshman DeShonna Day had 10 points as FSU had four players reach double-digits.

Purdue Northwest got a game-high 24 points from Danielle Nennig to go with 19 points by Savaya Brockington and 12 from Anjel Galbraith.

Overall, FSU shot 37% from the floor to 31% for the Pride, but the Bulldogs were only four-of-16 (25%) from long range and 10-of-11 (90.9%) at the line.

Ferris State was outrebounded slightly 42-39 and the Bulldogs also had 19 turnovers to 17 for the hosts. The Pride also made nine-of-27 (33.3%) three's in the game.

The two teams will square off again on Saturday (Feb. 20) starting at 4 p.m. (ET) in Indiana.
