Bulldogs Bolt By Ursuline, Win Fifth Straight

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's basketball ran its win streak to five-straight with an 83-52 home-opening victory over the Ursuline Arrows on Tuesday (Nov. 23) at Jim Wink Arena in non-league action.

Five Bulldogs finished in double figures, led by sophomore guard Kadyn Blanchard's 25 points, four assists and four boards. Blanchard also shot 5-9 from deep. 

In a strong defensive outing, Ferris State held Ursuline to 31.6 percent shooting and 15 percent shooting from deep.

In the first half, the Bulldogs shot 30.6 percent and took a five-point lead into half-time at 32-27.

Ferris State sizzled out of halftime, shooting 60 percent and firing 53.8 from beyond the arc (7-13) while outscoring the Arrows 51-25 in the second half.

In the third quarter alone, the Bulldogs held Ursuline to six points and scored 27 to jet out in front.

For the night, the Dawgs shot it 43.9 percent from the field and 45.8 from deep (11-24). Ferris State out-rebounded Ursuline 41-36 on the day and blocked six shots.

Ferris State junior forward Chloe Idoni had 20 points and seven points while redshirt senior guard Adrienne Anderson and grad guard Samantha Krauss added 11 points.

The Arrows were led in scoring by Michaela Cloonan's 19 points. Patience Ashaolu also chipped in 12 points for Ursuline. All five starters played all 40 minutes for the Arrows, who had only five players in uniform.

Ferris State is off until after Thanksgiving when the Bulldogs welcome in Grace Christian on Saturday (Nov. 27) starting at 7 p.m. (ET) inside Wink Arena.
