Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's basketball squad completed a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) regular-season sweep over Lake Superior State as the Bulldogs recorded a 70-47 triumph on Thursday (Feb. 10) night inside LSSU's Bud Cooper Gymnasium in Sault Ste. Marie.

The Bulldogs, now 16-7 overall, grabbed a three-point lead at the end of the opening quarter and extended the margin to 11 at halftime thanks to a big second quarter. In the second half, the Bulldogs outscored LSSU in each frame to pull away for the triumph.

Ferris State totaled 16 points or more in all four quarters of action and limited the Lakers to only eight points in the second frame en route to the win.

Sophomore Kadyn Blanchard tallied a game-high 19 points for the Bulldogs while Chloe Idoni notched 14 points and freshman Mya Hiram tallied 10 off the bench inside. Overall, the Bulldogs had six players notch six or more points in the win.

The Bulldogs forced 20 turnovers in the victory and outrebounded the Lakers 40-30 for the contest, which included 13 offensive caroms. FSU also sank 10-of-13 (76.9%) free throws.

On the offensive side, the Bulldogs finished shooting 41.5% overall and connected on six-of-16 (37.5%) three's. Ferris State limited the Lakers to 37% shooting with LSSU finishing seven-of-22 (31.8%) from long range and six-of-nine (66.7%) at the line.

The Bulldogs recorded 16 assists overall and had 12 steals while moving to 10-5 in GLIAC play.

CeCe Hacker paced Lake Superior State with 14 points and Makenzie Bray added 10 points, but those were the only two LSSU players to reach double-digits in the game.

With the win, the Bulldogs are now one of only three teams in the league standings with 10 or more conference wins to date this year.

LSSU fell to 3-15 overall and 2-10 in the GLIAC with the setback.

The Bulldogs, who do not play on Saturday, will return home to face Northwood on Monday (Feb. 14) night inside Wink Arena with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m. (ET).
