Bio

Autumn Mattson is midst her third official season with the Bulldog women's basketball program during the 2019-20 campaign and is no stranger to FSU head coach Kendra Faustin.

Mattson played collegiate basketball as a teammate of Faustin's at Lake Superior State. Presently, she's an elementary principal for the Creative Techologies Academy in Cedar Springs and also has beeen the dean of students and athletic director with the program.

A native of Cedar Springs, Mattson coached basketball for the Cedar Springs Red Hawks on both the junior varsity and varsity squads before taking over the athletic director reigns for Cedar Springs Public Schools during a 14-year career for the district prior to her current appointment. As the AD at Cedar Springs, she was named Regional Athletic Director of the Year by the Michigan Interscholastic Athletic Administrator Association (MIAAA) and Athletic Director of the Year by the West Michigan Officials Association.

While on the prep level, she has also been active within the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA), including serving on various committees and as a conference presenter on Women in Sports Leadership. Along with being the AD, she also was the Dean of Students at Cedar Springs High School for two years and founded the school's Athletic Leadership Council.

Mattson holds a bachelor's degree from Lake Superior State University, and a master's degree in education and leadership and an elementary teaching certification from Aquinas College. She was a four-year letterwinner for the Lakers during her collegiate basketball career from 1997-2001.

Mattson is married to Scott Mattson, and they have two children. She has also served as a leadership consultant in West Michigan.
