Ferris State, which concluded the fall campaign ranked 23rd nationally, earned 53 points and finished one point in front of Grand Canyon (Ariz.).  The national poll, which encompasses the resources of Golf World magazine and the NGCA, appeared in the February 22 issue of Golf World and can be viewed online now at www.golfdigest.com

Nova Southeastern (Fla.) vaulted back into first place in this spring's initial rankings with seven first-place votes and 271 points.  Grand Valley State, which like Ferris State is a member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) slipped back into second place while garnering two first-place votes and 256 points.  Rollins (Fla.) claimed the other two first-place votes and totaled a third-place 255 points in the top 25 poll.

The Ferris State University women's golf team will enter the new year nationally ranked as the Bulldogs finished 23rd in the final Golf World/National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Golf Division II Coaches' Poll (Nov. 30) for the 2009 fall season as released by the NGCA.

The Bulldogs, who are coached by third-year head coach Mike Mignano, begin the spring portion of their 2009-10 slate on March 27-28 at the Northern Kentucky Invitational in Perry Park, Ky.

This past fall, Ferris State recorded sixth place or higher finishes in three tournaments, which included a team-best third-place performance at the Northern Arizona Mountain Shootout in Flagstaff, Ariz.
