FSU Tied For Third At GLIAC Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team opened action in the 2011 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships on Friday (April 22) in Ashland, Ohio.

The Bulldogs are presently tied for third place overall in the two-day event at the Country Club of Ashland.

The players fought thru rain, wind and cold temperatures on Friday with host Ashland found atop the leaderboard after the first day of play.

AU carded a team score of 635 (+59) for the opening two rounds. Defending champion Grand Valley State is in second place at 649 (+73) with Ferris State and Findlay tied for third.  Both teams shot 670 and are at +94 overall.

The tournament's final 18 holes will be played on Saturday (April 23) with play beginning at 8:30 a.m. (ET).
