Ferris State University's Jacqueline DeBoer (Grand Rapids/South Christian) has made a favorable impression in her national tournament debut by tying for 24th place in this Wednesday's (May 11) opening round of the 2011 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships (May 11-14), which are being held at par 72, 6,111-yard The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, Mich.

DeBoer, the 2010-11 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Golf Freshman of the Year Award winner, is currently midst a nine-way tie for 24th place after firing a first-round five-over-par 77-stroke total.

Nova Southeastern (Fla.) presently sits atop the team leaderboard with a five-under-par 283 team score while Rollins (Fla.) is in second place at 293 (+5) followed by Florida Southern's 299 (+11) among the 12-team field.

The 2010-11 All-GLIAC First-Team selection is one of 72 student-athletes participating in the national tournament and is the first Bulldog to compete on an individual basis since 2003.

DeBoer will begin second-round play this Thursday (May 12) with an 8:30 a.m. (EDT) teeoff time.
