DeBoer Tied For 35th Place At NCAA-II Women's Golf Championships

Freshman Jacqueline DeBoer (Grand Rapids/South Christian) of the Ferris State University women's golf team recorded a second-round 79 score in Thursday's (May 12) action at the 2011 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships (May 11-14) in Allendale, Mich. 

DeBoer is currently tied for 35th place as a result of posting a seven-over-par 79-stroke total on the par 72, 6,111-yard The Meadows Golf Course and has compiled a 156 (77-79=156, +12).  DeBoer, the 2010-11 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Golf Freshman of the Year, is midst a eight-way tie for 35th-place honors.  She registered two birdies on the front nine holes (4th and 8th) and then tallied a birdie on the 17th hole. 

Nova Southeastern (574, -2) continues to hold the top position in the NCAA-II Championships with Taylor Collins (137, -7) and Abbey Gittings (140, -4) leading the way individually.

DeBoer is one of 72 student-athletes competing in the national tournament and is the first Bulldog women's golf athlete to compete individually since 2003.

The 2010-11 All-GLIAC First-Team honoree begins third-round play of the 72-hole event this Friday (May 13) at 8:45 a.m. (EDT)
