Women's Golf Takes Seventh At NKU Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf squad opened its official spring action on Saturday and Sunday (March 24-25) with a seventh-place showing in the Northern Kentucky Spring Invitational held at Perry Park, Ky.

The Bulldogs posted scores of 318 in round one on Saturday and 317 in the final round to finish 59-strokes over par at 635 for the tournament.

The 20-team field was won by Indianapolis, which shot a 597 at 21-over on the par 72 Perry Park Golf Club course that mearsured 5,819 yards.

Indianapolis' Amy Thompson was the individual winner at 145 (+1).

For Ferris State, Erin Fuchik led the Bulldogs at 10-over with a 154 on rounds of 78 and 76.  She was followed by Bryce Hetchler in a tie for 34th place at 159 (+15) with scores of 80 and 79 in the first and second round, respectively.

Next up for FSU was Jacqueline DeBoer with a 160 (+16). She shot scores of 79 and 81.  Behind her was Emily Rohdy in a tie for 46th place with a +18 score of 162 on indentical rounds of 81 over the two days.

Blaize Baumgartner tied for 64th in the field at 168 (+24) with scores of 86 and 82.  Finally, Breezy Bernth was tied for 72nd at 169 (+25) as she totaled performances of 87 and 82 in the two rounds.

The Bulldogs are next in action at the Ohio DOminican Give 18 Fore Cancer Classic on Saturday and Sunday (March 31 & April 1) in Pataskala, Ohio.
