FSU Takes Fifth At Bellarmine Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team continued its spring action by placing fifth in the Bellarmine Spring Invitational on Monday (March 26) in Louisville, Ky.

The Bulldogs shot a 325 in the one-round event and were only 12 strokes out of first place.  Drury (Mo.) won the event with a 313 followed by California (Pa.) at 317, Ashland with a 320 and Findlay at 322.  Nine schools took part in the event on the par 72 courese.

Jacqueline DeBoer paced the Bulldogs with an 80 and tied for ninth place overall.  Senior Erin Fuchik tied for 14th place at 81 followed by Emily Rohdy in a tie for 16th place at 82 along with Bryce Hetchler also at 82.  Breezy Bernth rounded out the lineup as she placed tied for 41st at 92 on the day.

FSU's Blaize Baumgartner also competed individually and tied for 32nd in the field with an 87 score.

The invitational was a late addition to the Bulldogs' 2011-12 schedule.

Ferris State next takes part in the Ohio Dominican Give 18 Fore Cancer Classic on Saturday and Sunday, March 31 and April 1, in Pataskala, Ohio.
