FSU Finishes Fifth At Give 17 Fore Cancer Classic

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team wrapped up weekend action with a fifth-place performance in the Give 18 Fore Cancer Classic hosted by Ohio Dominican at the Cumberland Trail Golf Club in Pataskala, Ohio.

The Bulldogs fired a 310 in Sunday's (April 1) final round on the par 72 course to finish at 634 for the two-day event.  FSU previously had shot 324 in Saturday's first round of action.

Bryce Hetchler paced FSU as she tied for sixth overall in the field at 153 following rounds of 78 and 75 over the two days.

Hetchler was followed by Emily Rohdy, who was 11th at 156 for the event.  She posted a 77 on Sunday after an opening-round score of 79 in Saturday's action.

Behind Rohdy was Jacqueline DeBoer in a tie for 14th place at 158 for the tournament with rounds of 81 and 77, respectively.

Senior Erin Fuchik carded scores of 86 and 81 to post a 167, which was good for 39th place.  Finally, Blaize Baumgartner tied for 40th in the field at 168 with rounds of 87 and 81 overall.

FSU's Brooke Rodes competed as an individual and came in 21st for the Bulldogs with a 160 on rounds of 81 and 79.

Grand Valley State claimed the team title with a 619 followed by California (Pa.) at 620, Findlay at 622 and Ashland at 625 in front of the Bulldogs.  A total of 13 teams competed in the event.

Ferris State is back in action on Wednesday, April 4, with a dual against the University of Findlay on the road.
