Women's Golf Places Fourth At GLIAC Tourney

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team placed fourth overall in the 2012 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships, which took place on Monday and Tuesday (April 23-24) in Midland, Mich.

The Bulldogs carded a three-round 984 team score in placing behind Grand Valley State (963), Ashland (968) and Findlay (978) in the nine-team field at Currie Golf Course.  FSU shot rounds of 326 and 333 in Monday's first day of competition before recording a final-round 325 total on Tuesday.

FSU's Jacqueline DeBoer placed tied for third individually in the conference field as she fired a 241 total over the three rounds with scores of 80, 83 and 78, respectively.

The Bulldogs had one other finisher in the top 10 overall as Emily Rohdy came in tied for sixth overall with a 243 figure based on scores of 79, 82 and 82.

Senior Erin Fuchik wound up tied for 12th overall at 250 as she carded rounds of 81, 78 and 91 for the tournament.

Bryce Hetchler placed tied for 14th in the field with a 252 total after scores of 86, 90 and a 76.

Finally, FSU's Brooke Rodes finished tied for 30th overall at 273 with rounds of 91, 93 and 89 overall.

The individual winner was Grand Valley State's Sarah Hoffman, who posted a 225 score for the 54-hole tournament.
