Ferris State's Libby Berens Claims GLIAC Athlete Of Week Honor

Big Rapids, Mich. - Sophomore Libby Berens (Zeeland/Holland Christian) of the Ferris State University women's golf team has been chosen as this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Golf Athlete of the Week.

\Berens led the Bulldogs to their fifth-straight top three tournament performance of the spring this past Sunday and Monday (April 6-7) at the Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne (IPFW) Spring Classic held at Chestnut Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Berens tied for 12th individually with a two-round 154 total in leading the Bulldogs to a third-place team finish. She shot a two-over par 74 in Sunday's opening round as FSU held a share of the first-day lead and then came back with an 80 on Monday to wrap up the event.

She's the first Bulldog women's golfer to claim the GLIAC's weekly award honor this spring.

The Bulldogs are next back in action on April 13-14 at the JBMF Cavalier Classic in Canton, Ohio.
