Bulldog Women's Golf Remains Third After Two Rounds At GLIAC Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team shot 13 strokes better on day two and remains in third place overall heading into the final round of the 2014 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships following second day action on Saturday (April 26) in New Albany, Ohio.

The Bulldogs, who carded a 336 score under wet and soggy conditions in day one play on Friday, came back to post a 323 figure in Saturday's 18 holes of action at the Winding Hollow Golf Club and are presently at 659 overall for the 54-hole, three-round event.

First day leader Grand Valley State continues to lead the field with a 636 team score following by Ashland, which is six strokes in front of FSU at 653 overall. A total of 10 league schools are competing in the three-day event.

The Bulldogs' Kelsey McKinley fired a squad-best 77 on Saturday and is presently fourth overall at 159 for the tournament. She's a single stroke in front of senior Ashley Swanson, who is tied for fifth overall at 160 following a second-day score of 79.

Senior Jacqueline Mulder posted an 82 Saturday and is tied for 12th in the field with a 163 total followed by Libby Berens, who recorded an 85 on Saturday and is 31st overall at 181 following two rounds of action.

Finally, senior Emily Rohdy is tied for 32nd overall at 182 and posted a 90 in the second round.

The third and final day of action in the GLIAC Championships is set for Sunday (April 27) with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. (ET).

The GLIAC Championships are being hosted by Ohio Dominican University.
