Ferris State Women's Golf Brings In Talented High School Standout Morgan Zloto

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf program has announced the addition of one of the state's top prep golfers in Morgan Zloto (Flushing/Flint Powers Catholic Central), who will join the program next fall as a freshman for the 2014-15 campaign.

The Bulldogs, who reached the NCAA Tournament for the 13th consecutive year this past spring, will add a student-athlete in Zloto coming off a standout high school career.
 
"Morgan will be a wonderful addition to our program next season," said seventh-year FSU head coach Mike Mignano. "She comes from a strong high school team at Flint Powers that is accustomed to winning and competing at the highest level.
 
"We believe she'll be a perfect fit for our program's academic and athletic standards," he added.
 
Zloto earned 2013 Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) All-State honors and placed fourth individually at the 2013 MHSAA State Finals. Her performance helped Flint Powers Catholic Central to a third-place team finish at the state competition. In addition, she was also a member of the National Honor Society.
 
The Bulldogs had a trio of seniors this past year who wrapped up their collegiate careers, including another Flint Powers Catholic Central product in Ashley Swanson. She claimed All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) First Team accolades this year and was a two-time all-conference pick in the Bulldog program.
 
Ferris State made its 13th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in women's golf this season. FSU placed fourth overall in the 2014 NCAA East Super Regional in early May and narrowly missed advancing to the NCAA-II National Championships.
 
The Bulldogs' top four finish at the regional championships marked the eighth time in as many tournaments this spring in which Ferris State finished among the top four teams, including a runner-up showing in the 2014 GLIAC Championships prior to the NCAA East Regional. FSU's fourth place overall finish in the regional competition marked its best showing since last advancing to the national championships in 2009.
 
FSU's senior contingent of Swanson, Jacqueline Mulder (Byron Center) and Emily Rohdy (Farwell) wrapped up their Bulldog careers by leading Ferris State to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances.
