Bulldog Women's Golf Moves Up On Final Day Of Findlay "Bing Beall" Fall Classic

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team climbed the leaderboard on the final day of the Findlay "Bing Beall" Fall Classic on Monday (Oct. 10) as the Bulldogs finished in a tie for seventh place overall in the event held in Findlay, Ohio.

Ferris State moved up two places by shooting a 330 team score in Monday's final 18 holes of action after initially shooting a 333 figure in Sunday's opening round. FSU concluded the two-round tournament with a 663 score and shared seventh place with California (Pa.).

The team crown was claimed by Missouri-St. Louis with a 616 score on the par 72 course measuring 6,093 yards. Host Findlay came in second (625) with Grand Valley State third (626) among the 15 competing schools.

The Bulldogs were led by Destiny Lawson as she placed tied for seventh individually with a 154 score for the two rounds of competition. Lawson shot identical rounds of 77 each day.

FSU's Morgan Zloto placed tied for 21st in the field with a 161 figure overall. She posted an 82 in the second round after firing a 79 in round one.

Ferris State's Danielle Frank finished tied for 67th as she shot a 92 on Monday after an opening round score of 84 to net a 176 total.

The Bulldogs' Jordan Duvall wound up 73rd at 181 on rounds of 93 and 88 over the two days, respectively, while Mari Suokko posted a 183 total for 75th place. She came back with an 83 on Monday for a 17-stroke improvement over her 100 score in the opening round.

FSU's Olivia Pizii also competed as an individual and was tied for 76th with a 184 on identical rounds of 92 each day.

The Bulldogs will next compete in the Kohler Classic to be held on Oct. 17-18 in Kohler, Wis.
