Ferris State Women's Golf Wraps Up Fall Season At Music City Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team wrapped up its fall season at the Music City Invitational on Tuesday (Oct. 24) in Nashville, Tenn.

The Bulldogs carded a two-round 691 team total to finish 16th overall in a competitive field at the Old Hickory Golf Course. The event took place on Monday and Tuesday and was hosted by Trevecca Nazarene University.

Ferris State was led by freshman Baylee Thompson, who shot a 166 total for a share of 44th place individually. She shot back-to-back rounds of 83 each day under sometimes rainy and wet conditions to finish at +22 for the tourney.

FSU's Margo Brown was five strokes behind Thompson with a 171 total, which came in tied for 57th as FSU's number two finisher. After a first-round 85, she shot an 86 over the final 18 holes of action.

The Bulldogs' Mari Suokko placed tied for 66th at 175 overall with rounds of 83 Monday and 92 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Morgan Zloto shot a 179 figure for a share of 74th place. Her first round score of 89 was followed by a 90 in the final round.

Finally, Shayna Schneider finished tied for 85th at 190 overall on rounds of 93 on day one and 97 on day two.

The Bulldogs will resume their 2017-18 campaign in the spring with both the GLIAC Championships and the NCAA regional events taking place at the end of the spring season.
