Women's Golf Takes 10th Place At The SVSU Spring Invitational

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team came away with a 10th place team finish as the Bulldogs concluded final round play on Sunday (March 18) at the Saginaw Valley State Spring Invitational held at the Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Ky.

FSU shot a two-round 667 team score with rounds of 345 and 322 over the 36 holes of action.

The Bulldogs were led by freshman Baylee Thompson, who placed tied for 25th in the field with a 162 figure. She shot a first-round 83 followed by a 79 in round two.

Next in line for FSU was Mari Suokko, who came in tied for 38th overall. She also shot a 79 in the final round after carding a 86 in the first 18 holes of action.

FSU's Margo Brown tied for 50th with a 169 score on rounds of 87 and 82 over the first two days, respectively, with Katelin Randolph placing tied for 57th. She shot a 89 followed by an 82.

Finally, Maddie Tran finished tied for 79th at 181 overall. In the first round, she shot a 89 followed by a 92 overall.

Ferris State will be back in action on Saturday and Sunday, March 24-25, at the Perry Park Spring Fling in Perry Park, Ky.
