Ferris State Shoots 18 Strokes Better In Round Two At GLIAC Women's Golf Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team shot 18 strokes better in round two play on Saturday (April 21) in the 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships at The Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.

The Bulldogs, who shot a 347 figure in day one action on Friday, came back with a round of 329 on Saturday. The tournament is taking place on the par 72 course measuring 5,926 yards.

Bulldog freshman Baylee Thompson moved into the top 15 overall in the 54-hole tournament as she climbed into a tie for 14th place after shooting a 77 in round two. It came after a first-round 81 figure and she's currently at 158 for the first two rounds of action.

Ferris State's Mari Suokko shot an 82 on Saturday and is tied for 33rd overall at 168 for the two days. She had posted an 86 in round one.

FSU's Margo Brown also shot 82 in the second 18 holes of action following her first-round 89 score. Presently, she's tied for 38th with a 171 total after two rounds.

The Bulldogs' Katelin Randolph currently is 48th in the field with a 179 score following a round two 88 score. In the first round, she had shot a 91.

Finally, Izzy Flack also carded an 88 on Saturday after notching a 97 in the opening round. Her two-round total of 185 is tied for 50th in the field.

Final round play at the 2018 GLIAC Championships is set for Sunday (April 22) at The Virtues Golf Club.
