Ferris State Women's Golf Finishes Action In 2018 GLIAC Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf squad wrapped up action in the 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships as final round play concluded on Sunday (April 22) at The Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.

Ferris State shot a 332 team figure on Sunday and finished the 54-hole event in 10th place with a 1,008 stroke figure for the three rounds. The Bulldogs shot a 347 in round one Friday before firing a 329 score in Saturday's round two on the par 72 course that measured 5,926 yards.

The Bulldogs were led by freshman Baylee Thompson, who placed 21st overall at 241 for the three rounds. Following a first-round 81, she shot 77 in round two and concluded the event with an 83 on Sunday.

FSU's Margo Brown had her best score on the final day by coming in with a 79 to finish tied for 34th in the field. She totaled 250 for the 54 holes with an 89 in round one and a 82 in the second round.

Ferris State's Mari Suokko finished 37th with a 251 mark. After shooting an 86 and an 82 on Friday and Saturday, respectively, she concluded the tournament with an 83 in the last round.

Next, Katelin Randolph placed 49th at 266 overall with a final-round 87 on Sunday. She had shot a 91 in round one and a 88 in the second round.

Finally, FSU's Izzy Flack was 51st with a 273 figure. After posting a 97 in the first round, she concluded the tournament with back-to-back 88 scores.
