Bulldog Women's Tennis Closes 2018 Beall Classic With 10th-Place Finish

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team concluded action in the 2018 Beall Classic hosted by the University of Findlay on Monday (Oct. 8) with a 10th-place team finish at the Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio.

The Bulldogs shot a two-round, 651 team total with a round of 321 on Sunday followed by a 330 over the final 18 holes on Monday.

Bulldog freshman Mackenzie Dale paced FSU with a 158 total in the 36-hole event, which was good for a share of 23rd place overall. She shot back-to-back scores of 79 on the course.

Meanwhile, Mari Suokko came in tied for 27th with a 159 figure. She also carded a 79 in the final round, which topped her opening-round 80 score by a stroke.

Junior Margo Brown was six shots behind Suokko with a 165 total for a share of 50th overall. Brown shot a 76 in round one before closing with an 89 on Monday.

FSU's Shayna Schneider placed tied for 65th in the field at 171 with a first-round 86 and a final round 85 score while Gianna Dela Cruz was three shots behind her at 174 on rounds of 87 each day.

A total of 15 schools and 90 golfers took part in the tournament.

Ferris State closes fall action on Oct. 22-23 as the Bulldogs venture to Nashville (Tenn.) for the 2018 Music City Invitational.
