Bulldog Women's Golf Adds Three Talented Prep Performers

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf program recently signed three student-athletes who will join the Bulldogs next fall for the 2019-20 season as part of their fall recruiting class. The announcement was made by FSU head coach Kyle Wittenbach.

The recent additions include Abigail Grevel (North Muskegon) along with Hallie Boles (Barbourville, Ky.) and Karina VanDuinen (Muskegon/Reeths-Puffer).

"These three talented individuals will be great additions to our program and we are looking forward to having them as Bulldogs," said Wittenbach. "Abby is a strong athlete that brings fresh competitiveness to our program while Hallie will contribute to the culture we work hard to create right away."

"I also believe Karina's experience and speed will help her to acclimate to collegiate golf as soon as she arrives," he added.

Grevel is the daughter of Jeff and Laura Grevel and has competed for North Muskegon High School. She intends to major in Pharmacy at FSU and has shot a low round of 72 on the links.

"I am excited to be going to a school that values academics and takes pride in their golf program," she said. "I will do everything I can to help my new team and teammates excel."

An out of state product from Barbourville (Ky.), Boles competed for Barbourville Independent High School. She carded a 72 score at the 2018 Kentucky Class A State Championship and will major in FSU's renowed PGA Golf Management program. She's the daughter of Jamie and Trish Boles.

"I have dreamed of playing college golf for years and I am elated to pursue that dream at Ferris State," Boles said. "I chose FSU for their great facilities, top notch PGA Golf Management program and because I think Coach Wittenbach will push me to be the best player and teammate that I can be."

Finally, VanDuinen ranked among the best players in West Michigan at Muskegon's Reeths-Puffer High School and has shot a low round of four-under 69 in her golf career. The daughter of Mike and Christa VanDuinen, she also intends to major in FSU's PGA Golf Management program.

"I'm thrilled to be joining such a tremendous program and golf culture," she said. "I'm looking forward to seeing what the future brings as a Bulldog."

The Bulldogs will return to action with the first spring competition slated for March 7-8 at the Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff in Tampa, Fla
