Bulldog Women's Golf Finishes Seventh As NC4K Collegiate Classic Wraps Up

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf squad finished seventh overall in the annual NC4K Collegiate Classic, which finished up on Tuesday (April 9) at the Jefferson Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio.

A total of 19 schools took part in the regional event with FSU shooting a 313 figure in Monday's first round of the 36-hole event before closing with a 332 score on Tuesday for a 645 figure.

The Bulldogs were led by freshman Mackenzie Dale, who shot a 152 total for the two days and placed tied for eighth overall. She shot a 75 in the second round after carding a 77 in round one.

FSU's Margo Brown was next in line as she placed tied for 27th overall at 160 with rounds of 81 on Monday and 79 on Tuesday.

Ferris State's Mari Suokko and Elaina Derose both shared 48th place in the field with totals of 167 overall. Suokko posted a 77 in the first round along with a 90 in round two while Derose shot a 78 on day one and finished up with a 89 on Tuesday.

Finally, Shayna Schneider wound up tied for 74th overall at 178 with back-to-back rounds of 89 each day.

The Bulldogs will take part in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships set for April 19-21 in Augusta, Mich.
