Former Oakland University Standout Kylee Sullivan Tabbed New Ferris State Assistant Golf Coach

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's golf programs have announced the appointment of Kylee Sullivan as the new assistant coach in an announcement made today.

Sullivan concluded a stellar collegiate golf career at NCAA Division I Oakland University this spring and was a two-time Scholar All-American. 

"Kylee will bring experience and knowledge from her time at Oakland University that will help us to maintain our championship mentalities and further promote our cause," said FSU head coach Kyle Wittenbach. "Her impact will be positive and immediate for both programs."

A Colorado native, Sullivan has compiled numerous top 10 finishes and posted two collegiate tournament wins in her four seasons (2015-19) at Oakland. She also holds a third-place finish at the conference championships and notched the second-lowest 54-hole score in Oakland history. The Horizon League Academic Honor Roll selection also has served as vice president of OU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Sullivan, who earned a bachelor's degree in history, prepped at Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado where she was a four-time Colorado Springs Gazette Player of the Year choice. A member of three state champion teams, Sullivan also claimed four regional championships and represented Colorado in the Girl's Junior America's Cup. In her prep career, she also qualified for the PGA Junior Championship.

While at Cheyenne Mountain, Sullivan was awarded a Rotary Champion Award for citizenship and charity work and earned honor roll distinction four consecutive years. She also was inducted into the National Honor Society and served as the student body vice president.

Sullivan's background also includes a three-year tenure working at the Country Club of Colorado along with assisting in helping run high school golf camps. She's also been a Special Olympics volunteer.

The Ferris State men's and women's golf programs have a long history of success, which includes a current 17-year streak of representation in the NCAA Championships in men's golf that ranks as one of the longest active stretches in the country. The women's golf program has advanced to the NCAA regional championships 13 times in the last 18 years.

This past year, the FSU men's golf squad finished tied for third overall in the NCAA Division II Super Regional Championships in Arkansas and advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championships for the 16th time in program history.
