Women's Golf Concludes Action 11th At Findlay Beall Fall Classic

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team concluded play in the William Beall Fall Classic hosted by the University of Findlay on Tuesday (Oct. 8) in Findlay, Ohio.

The Bulldogs shot a three-round 962 team total to take 11th place overall in the event held at the Findlay Country Club. Indianapolis captured the tourney championship with an 886 team figure.

FSU senior Destiny Lawson paced the Bulldogs by coming in tied for 21st overall at 233 for the tournament. She carded a 78 in round one followed by a 75 in the middle round and an 80 over the final 18 holes.

Next in line for the Bulldogs was Makenzie Dale, who placed tied for 34th. She shot a 79 in the first round before firing a 76 in round two and an 82 over the final round for a 237 figure.

The Bulldogs' Karina Vanduinen finished tied for 57th with a 246 stroke total for the 54 holes. After shooting an 85 in the opening round, she came back with an 84 in the second round followed by a 77 in the last round.

Ferris State senior Shayna Schenider wound up tied for 65th place at 251 for the tournament on rounds of 86, 79 and 86 for the first, second and third rounds, respectively.

Finally, senior Margo Brown placed tied for 68th in the field with a three-round, 252 total. She followed up her first-round 81 score with an 84 in round two and an 87 in the last round.

The Bulldogs' Mari Suokko also competed as an individual and finished 81st overall. She notched an 82 in the first round before posting scores of 85 and 95 in rounds two and three, respectively.

Ferris State will compete next in the Music City Invitational hosted by Trevecca Nazarene University on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 14-15, in Nashville, Tenn.
