Bulldog Women's Golf Wraps Up Fall Action At Chippewa Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team finished fall action with a seventh-place effort at the Chippewa Invitational held Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 21-22) at the Birmingham Country Club in Birmingham, Mich.

In a largely Division I field, FSU shot a 318 figure in round one on Monday followed by a 338 score in the final round to total a 656 team score.

Senior Destiny Lawson paced the Bulldogs as she shot 154 for the tournament on rounds of 76 and 78 to place among the top 10 overall in ninth place.

FSU's Margo Brown competed as an individual and placed tied for 22nd on rounds of 79 and 81 for a 160 tournament figure.

Meanwhile, Mackenzie Dale wound up tied for 43rd with scores of 81 and 86 en route to a 167 mark for the two days of action.

Bulldog freshman Karina Vanduinen came in tied for 50th at 168 as she shot a first-round 82 and a second-round 86 score.

FSU's Elaina DeRose and Shayna Schenider both finished tied for 63rd in the draw with 172 scores. DeRose opened with a 84 followed by a 88 while Schneider posted a 79 in round one and finished with a 93 in the final 18 holes of action.

The Bulldogs are tenatively slated to open the spring season on March 5-7 at the Saddlebrook Spring Invite in Tampa, Fla.
