Ferris State Lowers Score By 21 Strokes In Final Round At NC4K College Classic

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team concluded action at the NC4K College Classic on Tuesday (April 5), lowering its final-round team score by 21 strokes at the Jefferson Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio.

The Bulldogs, who placed 11th overall, shot a 325 team figure on Tuesday after opening the event with a 346 total on Monday in round one. Overall, FSU carded a 671 figure (+95) for the 36 holes of action on the par 72 course.

The 19-team event was won by Findlay with a 589 mark followed by Tiffin and Indianapolis, which shared second place at 614 for the two days of competition.

The Bulldogs were led by Alayna Eldred as she placed tied for 18th overall with a 159 figure. After notching an 80 in the opening round, she carded a 79 on Tuesday.

FSU's Lauren Kempf finished tied for 39th in the field at 166 for the two rounds, posting scores of 85 on Monday and 81 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Abby Grevel came in tied for 52nd with a 171 total, posting marks of 91 and 80 on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.

The Bulldogs' Hope Thebo finished with a final-round 85 score on Tuesday, topping her 90 score in the first round and placed tied for 67th at 175 overall.

Finally, Juanita De La Cruz wound up tied for 78th, notching an 88 in the second 18 holes of play after a first-round 94 mark in round one on Monday. Overall, she posted a two-round 182 score.

Ferris State will next take part in The Cav Classic hosted by Walsh University on April 11-12 in Canton, Ohio.
