Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University women's soccer senior forward Bri Borgman (Holland/West Ottawa) earned another impressive postseason honor as she was named today (Nov. 16) to the 2011 Daktronics All-Midwest Region Second Team.

The Daktronics All-Region teams are nominated and voted on by the sports information directors from across the region.

This year marks the second time Borgman has attained Daktronics All-Region Second Team kudos as she also received the same distinction as a sophomore in 2009.  Previously, she was chosen as a 2011 All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) First Team honoree.

Borgman was among 14 second-team regional selections and one of four forwards. Northern Kentucky's Amanda Mason was chosen as the 2011 Daktronics Midwest Region Player of the Year and on the first team along with 12 additional representatives.

The 5-5 Borgman finished the 2011 campaign with a team-high 10 goals and added two assists for 22 total points.  It marked the third consecutive year in which Borgman has scored 10 goals in a season and the third year in a row she's tallied 22 points or more.

The four-year letterwinner claimed All-GLIAC First Team honors for the second time this season as she was also a first-team recipient in 2009 when she was also named to the Daktronics All-Midwest Region Second Team.

Borgman wrapped up her Bulldog career with 35 goals, eight assists and 78 total points in 74 career outings.  She concluded her career ranked third in goals, fourth in points and 10th in assists among FSU's all-time leaders.  In addition, her 10 career game-winning goals is currently second on the school chart.

This season, Borgman wrapped up league regular-season play listed third in goals (10) and fourth in points (22) among the GLIAC's seasonal leaders.

Ferris State finished the 2011 campaign with a 7-9-3 overall record and reached the GLIAC Postseason Tournament for the second-straight year. This year's appearance in the tournament represented the program's fourth ever as the Bulldogs also made the tournament in 2007 and 2008 before the back-to-back trips in 2010 and 2011.

The all-region team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The team is voted on by the NCAA Division II members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA), with the online nomination and voting process powered by ATHLETICSITE.COM.
