Five Bulldog Soccer Players Garner All-GLIAC Recognition With Kraft Tabbed Goalkeeper Of The Year

Big Rapids, Mich. - Five members of the Ferris State University women's soccer team have garnered All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) accolades for the 2017 fall campaign as the league unveiled its all-conference squads this afternoon.
The Bulldogs had a pair of first-team All-GLIAC choices in sophomore goalkeeper Grace Kraft (Williamston) along with freshman midfielder Bri Rogers (Livonia). Additionally, Kraft claiemd the GLIAC's Goalkeeper Of The Year distinction in voting by the league's member head coaches.
Along with the two first-team picks, FSU also placed two on the All-GLIAC Second Team in junior forward Carley Dubbert (St. Joseph) and freshman defender Maddie Dickens (DeWitt). Finally, freshman forward Mackenzie Dawes (DeWitt) garnered All-GLIAC Honorable Mention recognition.
The GLIAC's Goalkeeper Of The Year, Kraft led the Ferris State Bulldogs to a third-place finish in the GLIAC's regular-season and a potential NCAA Tournament berth. Kraft picked up six victories during the regular-season in net and allowed only 14 goals in 1,084 minutes of action for an impressive 1.16 goals against average. She recorded 71 saves and a .835 save percentage in 13 contests for FSU while pitching a shutout.
Kraft allowed a single goal or less in 10 of her 13 appearances while never giving up more than two goals in a contest this fall in helping FSU to an eighth-straight GLIAC Tournament appearance and the right to host first-round action.
As a freshman, Rogers added a scoring punch to the FSU lineup with five goals and four assists for 14 total points while starting all 19 contests this year. She also had two game-winning goals and finished with 39 total shots, including 18 on goal, while converting a pair of penalty kicks on the year in her initial campaign.
Dubbert has had her best season as a Bulldog to date with a squad-high nine goals and three assists for 21 total points in 19 appearances this season. She led the squad with 64 total shots and 36 on goal while producing four game-winners for head coach Andy McCaslin's squad.
Finally, the freshman combination of Dickens and Dawes joined Rogers in forming part of an impressive Bulldog freshman class. Dickens' play on the back end aided an improved FSU defensive performance and she also produced an assist with 10 total shots on the year. Up front, Dawes tallied 11 total points on four goals and three assists in 19 games with 26 total shots for FSU.
The Bulldogs were ranked sixth in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Rankings this week. The top six teams in the region will earn NCAA Tournament berths when the selection field is announced on Monday in a live online show at NCAA.com starting at 6 p.m. (ET).
FSU currently holds an 11-8 overall record to date this season.
