Big Rapids, Mich. - Freshman midfielder Bri Rogers (Livonia) of the Ferris State University women's soccer program was recently named to the 2017 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Midwest Region Second Team after a successful rookie campaign.

The D2CCA All-Region teams are nominated and selected by the region's sports information directors.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.

As a freshman this year, Rogers also earned All-GLIAC First Team honors for the Bulldogs, who narrowly missed receiving the school's first NCAA Tournament berth. She started all 18 games for FSU and finished with five goals and four assists for 14 total points, which included making a pair of penalty kicks and notching two game-winning goals.

This fall, the Bulldogs compiled an 11-8 overall record under head coach Andy McCaslin while placing third in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) with a 6-3 league record.

Along with the third-place league finish, the Bulldogs also reached the GLIAC Tournament for the eighth consecutive year and earned the right to host a quarterfinal-round home contest.
