Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University women's soccer head coach Andy McCaslin announced his 2018 recruiting class on Wednesday (Feb. 7) in conjunction with National Signing Day.

The class includes nine talented prep recruits who will join the FSU program for the fall 2018 season. The class comes on the heels of FSU's largest class ever a year ago.

Six of the nine signees this year hail from Michigan with one from Illinois, Ohio and New Jersey as the three out-of-state additions. The class overall includes one goalkeeper, one midfielder, three defenders and four forwards in a balanced mix.

"We're thrilled with this year's recruiting class and it really came together nicely," said McCaslin. "This is an outstanding collection of talent once again and we're excited they've joined our program. We're looking for this group to make a big impact in the years to come."

This past fall, the Bulldogs compiled an 11-8 overall record under McCaslin while placing third in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) with a 6-3 league record.

Along with the third-place league finish, the Bulldogs also reached the GLIAC Tournament for the eighth consecutive year and earned the right to host a quarterfinal-round home contest. FSU narrowly missed receiving the school's first-ever NCAA Tournament bid in 2017.

A total of 28 of the Bulldogs' 35 squad members are eligible to return in 2018 as FSU had only seven seniors this past fall.
