Ferris State Soccer Scores Impressive Shutout Road Victory Over Purdue Northwest

Hammond, Ind. - The nationally 14th-ranked Ferris State University women's soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to 11 consecutive contests with a 4-0 victory over the Purdue Northwest Pride in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on Friday (Oct. 5) at Pepsi Field in Hammond, Ind.

The Bulldogs controlled play throughout and got on the board at 18:07 when senior Carley Dubbert scored her fifth goal of the season, which stood as the eventual game winner. With the goal, Dubbert moved alone into second place in school history with nine career game-winning goals, behind the all-time leading scorer in school history, Emily Rogers (11).

Ferris State took a 2-0 lead at 21:36 when junior Maddie Fouts netted her first goal of the season from sophomore Mackenzie Dawes, who picked up her third assist of the season.

Then, only 10:02 into the second half, FSU sophomore Abigail Gilmore gave the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead on a goal aided from freshman Pia Nagel (2).

Ferris State capped the scoring when sophomore Gabrielle Teodorescu scored her first career collegiate goal at 60:18 while Fouts picked up her fourth assist of the year on the play.

The Bulldogs outshot the Pride 20-6 with an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal. Ferris State junior keeper Alison Chesterfield moved to 6-0-0 with a two-save shutout, which was her third shutout win of the season. Kelly Sharp took the loss in goal for PNW, making seven saves, and fell to 2-4-1 overall.

Ferris State, now 9-1-2, is off to the best start in program history and will aim to tie the longest unbeaten streak in school history. The Bulldogs head to Wisconsin to take on the Parkside Rangers on Sunday (Oct. 7) at 1 p.m. (ET).
