Ferris State Keeps Momentum Going With Big Road Win At Parkside

Big Rapids, Mich. - The 14th-ranked Ferris State University women's soccer squad keeps rolling as the Bulldogs registered a 4-1 road victory over Wisconsin-Parkside on Sunday (Oct. 7) to stretch their unbeaten streak to 12-straight this season.

The Bulldogs won the first-ever Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) matchup against the Rangers in Kenosha, Wis., to complete a weekend road sweep in league play.

Ferris State scored three goals in the first half in building a 3-1 edge at intermission and tallied the lone goal of the second frame in the triumph.

FSU's Maddie Fouts got the Bulldogs on the board first with an early goal at 5:55 of the first on a header off a cross pass from Abigail Gilmore, who earned the assist.

The Rangers managed to tie the contest back up at a goal apiece 20:29 into the initial period when Delaney Benich picked up her fourth goal of the year on a shot slotted past the keeper and aided by Jazmin Castanon.

However, Ferris State bounced back at 39:26 when Bri Rogers scored unassisted on a shot outside of the box that lofted about the keeper.

Rogers added her second goal of the contest only five seconds later on another unassisted shot.

The Bulldogs then had the lone goal of the second frame when senior Carley Dubbert tallied the final FSU marker on a shot assisted by Morgan Irwin.

The Bulldogs tallied 25 shots on the day and limited Parkside to only five opportunities. FSU also had all four corner kick tries in the outing.

Ferris State's Grace Kraft earned the victory in net with two saves in 90 minutes of work while Lara Ferrari suffered the loss for Parkside with nine saves in going the distance.

The Bulldogs will play a non-league road contest at Tiffin on Wednesday (Oct. 10) starting at 2 p.m. (ET).
