Ferris State's Bri Rogers Receives GLIAC Soccer Defensive Player Of Week Honor

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University women's soccer standout Bri Rogers (Livonia/Ladywood) has received this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Defensive Player of the Week honor.

Rogers had a big weekend for the No. 14 Bulldogs as FSU rolled to back-to-back league road wins, stretching their unbeaten streak to 12 consecutive contests.

Rogers' play on the back end helped FSU outscore Purdue Northwest and Parkside 8-1 in the two outings combined both played on the road. She notched four total points and nine shots in the weekend with a game-winning goal and four shots on net.

All four of her points came in Sunday's 4-1 decision at Parkside with a pair of goals. She broke a 1-1 tie with a goal in the 39th minute and then added another goal only five seconds later to give FSU a 3-1 advantage late in the first half that they would not relinquish.

Both goals were unassisted and her play defensively helped FSU limit the Rangers to only five total shots. FSU also gave up only six shots to Purdue Northwest in Friday's 4-0 shutout victory.

The Bulldogs, who are currently 10-1-2 overall and 4-0-2 in the GLIAC, visit Tiffin on Wednesday (Oct. 10) for a 2 p.m. (ET) non-league tilt in Ohio. FSU then returns home to host Northwood for Senior Day on Sunday (Oct. 14) starting at noon in Big Rapids.
