Nationally-Ranked Bulldogs Break Two School Records In Non-League Win At Tiffin

Tiffin, Ohio – The nationally 12th-ranked Ferris State University women's soccer team took down two school records en route to a 4-0 win over the Tiffin Dragons in non-conference action on Wednesday (Oct. 10) at Paradiso Fields in Ohio.

The Bulldogs broke the school mark for longest unbeaten streak at 13, which surpassed the 2015 record of 12 with the win. Ferris State is now 11-0-2 in its last 13 outings. The Bulldogs have not lost in regulation this season and have not dropped a match in 40 days.

In the process, freshman Pia Nagel broke the all-time school record for single-season game-winning goals (5) with her tally at 1:06 of the contest. The goal was Nagel's sixth of the year and first of two in the contest. Sophomore Mackenzie Dawes added the assist, her fourth of the season to make it 1-0.

Nagel then added her seventh of the year and second of the afternoon at 36:44 from sophomore Kira Budzynski, which was her first assist of the season, giving FSU a 2-0 lead.

By the half, Ferris State had outshot the Dragons 21-0 and 15-0 in shots on goal.

Ferris State continued its offensive onslaught into the second half when junior Tia VanSuilichem scored her third goal of the season on a 30-yard rip that flew over the netminder cross-cage at 60:32.

Then, at 80:41, the Bulldogs capped the scoring when freshman Edina Taerbaum netted her first collegiate goal with the assist credited to sophomore Gabrielle Teodorescu, her second of the season, putting the Bulldogs up 4-0.

At the horn, the Bulldogs finished with a 36-3 shots advantage along with a 24-2 shots on goal lead over the Dragons.

In goal, redshirt freshman keeper Taryn Meiste picked up her third win and second shutout of the season, making two saves in the process. Tiffin's Shelbey Haworth made 15 saves and allowed three goals while taking the loss and was relieved with 17:34 to play by Nahomi Lopez, who made five saves and allowed the final goal.

Ferris State returns home and will celebrate Senior Day on Sunday (Oct. 14) with a noon kickoff in non-conference action against Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) foe Northwood at the Bulldog Soccer Field.
