Big Rapids, Mich. – The nationally 12th-ranked Ferris State University women's soccer team scored in the final two minutes to clinch home-field for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Quarterfinals with a 2-1 GLIAC victory over the Davenport Panthers on Sunday (Oct. 21) at the Bulldog Soccer Field.

Ferris State carried the play early and finally cashed in on a penalty kick at 26:17 when sophomore Bri Rogers rolled it past the Davenport keeper, Macie DeWyse, for a 1-0 lead and Rogers' fifth goal of the season.

The Panthers returned fire at 41:38 when Alayna Hilgendorf fired a shot from inside the box to the top left corner to even the contest at 1-1.

In the second half, the Panthers forced the play at the Bulldogs, but a late foul on the Panthers inside the Bulldog box would be as close as the Panthers would get.

At 88:06, the Bulldogs drew their second penalty shot of the game, and Rogers again delivered, for her sixth goal of the season and the game-winning tally.

The Bulldogs outshot the Panthers 20-13 with an 11-8 edge in shots on goal for the game. Ferris State junior keeper Alison Chesterfield made seven saves and moved to 7-1-0 on the season, while DU's DeWyse took the loss and fell to 6-8-0.

The win puts the Bulldogs alone in second place in the GLIAC headed into their final regular season match. Ferris State also clinched a home-field contest for the GLIAC Quarterfinals for the third time in four seasons.

Ferris State will host a GLIAC Quarterfinal game on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the Bulldog soccer field. Game time and opponent are to be determined.

The Bulldogs wrap up the regular season with a chance to tie the all-time school record for single season victories when they head to Northwood on Friday (Oct. 26) for a 3 p.m. (ET) kickoff in the regular season finale at Midland, Mich.
