Big Rapids, Mich. - Standout forward and team captain Carley Dubbert (St. Joseph, Mich.) of the Ferris State University women's soccer squad was recently chosen to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District First Team.

Dubbert wrapped up a stellar collegiate career by helping lead the Bulldogs to the most historic season in program history as FSU reached the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen.

The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if necessary) Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.

The Google Cloud Academic All-District teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

The Division II and III Google Cloud Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA Google Cloud Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.

As a senior this season, Dubbert tallied 23 points with eight goals and seven assists in 24 outings. She notched 76 total shots, including 37 on net and finished with three game-winning markers for the Bulldogs. Dubbert was also an All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) honoree and departed as one of the winningest seniors in program history.

The Bulldogs had a record-breaking season this fall with a school all-time best 17-4-3 overall record under head coach Andy McCaslin. FSU reached the national tournament for the first time in school history and won their opening two games at home before falling to top-ranked rival Grand Valley State in the third round of the national tournament.

Ferris State finished a memorable season with multipe school records such as the most wins, fewest losses, highest winning percentage, best road record, most goals scored and most shutouts in a single campaign. This year also marked the first time the Bulldog squad has ever had three different goalkeepers record at least one shutout.

In addition, FSU was nationally ranked for most of the season, which is the first time in the program's 20-year history FSU has ranked among the nation's top 25 teams.

The Bulldogs finished second in the GLIAC Regular Season standings, the highest finish in program history before also making their first-ever appearance in the GLIAC Tournament Championship game.
