Marquette, Mich. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's (GLIAC) first-place Ferris State Bulldogs played to a 0-0 deadlock with the Northern Michigan Wildcats on Friday (April 9) inside the Superior Dome in league play in Marquette.
Ferris State junior keeper Taryn Meiste picked up her career-best fourth shutout of the season in the tie, making three stops in the effort.
Officially, the shots favored Ferris State 10-7. On goal, each side had three. The Bulldogs had six corner attempts to the Wildcats' one.
The Bulldogs had the run of the play in overtime, but were unable to crack NMU keeper Shenae Kreps, who made three stops to earn the draw for the Wildcats.
Nationally #16-ranked Ferris State (5-0-1) still holds onto first place in the GLIAC following the draw, ahead of Grand Valley State (3-0-1).
Ferris State junior Pia Nagel, senior Maddie Dickens and junior Emily Mergener each had a shot on goal in the game for Ferris State. Six Bulldogs attempted at least one shot with four each attempting two.
The Bulldogs journey next to Houghton to take on the Michigan Tech Huskies on Sunday (April 11) for a noon kickoff in the Upper Peninsula.
