Dawgs Top Panthers To Cap League Regular Season Road Play

Caledonia, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's soccer team netted a 3-1 road Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) win over the Davenport Panthers on Friday (Nov. 5) at Meyering Field.

Ferris State senior forward Bri Rogers netted her career-high ninth goal of the campaign in the victory as the Dawgs wrapped up road-league play Friday evening.

The Bulldogs struck early when junior Isabella Zamborini ripped in her fifth goal of the season just 3:21 into the contest for an early 1-0 FSU lead.

Davenport returned fire at 7:00 when Angelina McSauby evened the contest at 1-1 early in the first half when the Panthers were awarded a penalty kick.

Ferris State broke the tie when Rogers converted on a penalty kick at 39:57 of the game, extending her school record in career penalty kicks to 11 overall. Rogers is 11-11 all-time and has five more than second all-time in school history in the category.

The Bulldogs salted the game away when junior Nikki May floated in her second goal of the season, good for her 10th point of the year, at 65:20 of the day.

Ferris State had a 30-4 lead in shots for the game with a 12-1 advantage in shots on goal. The Bulldogs attempted 11 corner tries and allowed just three to the Panthers.

In goal, Ferris State freshman keeper Darya Mosallaei allowed one goal and picked up the win. Aside from the penalty shot, the Bulldogs did not allow another shot on goal. Gabriana Bennecke made nine stops in goal and took the loss for the Panthers.

Ferris State returns home Sunday (Nov. 7) to take on national #1-ranked Grand Valley State in the regular season finale at 1:00 p.m. (ET) at the Bulldog Soccer Field.
