Ferris State Women's Soccer Trio Tabbed As Scholar All-America and All-Region Choices

Big Rapids, Mich. - A trio of Ferris State University women's soccer standouts recently earned recognition from the United Soccer Coaches as both Scholar All-America and All-Region selections for the fall 2021 season.

The Bulldog trio of seniors Bri Rogers (Livonia), Abigail Gilmore (Lansing) and Pia Nagel (Karlsruhe, Germany) earned distinction from the United Soccer Coaches for their work on the field and in the classroom for FSU, which advanced to the NCAA Tournament for only the second time in school history this past fall.

Rogers earned United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America First Team honors with both Gilmore and Nagel named to the third-team. In addition, all three were also tabbed to the Scholar All-North/Central Region squad.

Ferris State was the only Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) school to have a Scholar All-Region and All-America selection.

This fall, Rogers concluded the 2021 campaign with 10 goals and two assists for 22 points in 22 contests, ranking among the league's scoring leaders. She also had a pair of game-winning goals and totaled 51 shots on the season. She became the second-ever FSU All-American on the field as she was chosen to both the USC and Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-America Third Teams.

During the fall season, Rogers was one of two Bulldogs named to the 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region First Team. Both Nagel and Gilmore were second-team all-region choices on the field of play.

This past fall, Nagel totaled 27 points on 10 goals and seven assists for FSU with a pair of game-winners. She wrapped up her Bulldog career ranking among the program's all-time scoring leaders. Gilmore had a strong season on the back end for FSU, finishing with four points on a goal and two assists while starting all 22 contests.

The Bulldog trio helped lead FSU to a 15-3-4 overall record this fall, which included a second-place 9-2-4 conference mark. The Bulldogs also captured the program's first-ever GLIAC Tournament Championship, stopping GVSU's 14-year title streak, and advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament for only the second time in program history.
