Ferris Women's Tennis Falls To Northwood

Midland, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team suffered a 7-2 setback to rival Northwood in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action on Wednesday (Sept. 30) at the Midland Community Tennis Center in Midland, Mich.

The host Timberwolves swept the doubles round and finished the match by winning four of the six singles positions to remain unbeaten (5-0) on the season.

Ferris State dropped to 2-2 overall and 2-2 in GLIAC play with its second-straight setback.

FSU's lone wins were posted by sophomore Natalie Diorio and senior Daniela Dimas at the numbers four and six singles flights, respectively. 

Diorio's victory came in a third-set tiebreaker while the other five singles matches were all won in straight-sets.

Ferris State will return home to host a pair of matches this weekend at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.  The Bulldogs take on Findlay this Friday (Oct. 2) at 3 p.m. (EDT) before squaring off against Wayne State on Saturday (Oct. 3) with match time set for 10 a.m. (EDT).

Both of this weekend's matches will be league encounters.
