Women's Tennis Wraps Up GLIAC Play
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State women's tennis team wrapped
up Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC)
regular-season play with a convincing 9-0 win over league newcomer
Lake Erie on Saturday (Oct. 9) morning at the FSU Racquet and
Fitness Center in Big Rapids.
The Storm had only four available players and were forced to
default in the bottom two singles flights along with the number
three doubles position.
All four FSU singles wins were determined in straight-sets,
including three by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores.
Additionally, both doubles encounters were decided by 8-0 margins
of victory in favor of the Bulldogs.
Ferris State concludes the conference regular-season with a 9-2
overall and league record. Lake Erie fell to 0-11 overall and
0-10 in the GLIAC with the loss.
The victory was the third-straight for FSU over the last three
days at home.
The 2010 GLIAC Tournament will take place Oct. 22-24 in
Midland.
