Women's Tennis Rolls Past Findlay At Home

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team improved to 2-0 overall this season with a dominating 9-0 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) triumph over visiting Findlay on Thursday (Sept. 8) at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.

The win came in the initial home match of the 2011-12 season for the Bulldogs and opened a three-match homestand this week. 

Ferris State took control early by winning all three doubles flights in convincing fashion with the closest score coming by a commanding 8-2 count at the second spot. 

In singles play, the Bulldogs won five of the six flights in straight-sets while junior Tabitha Simpson pulled out a three-set win at the second position.

In all, the Bulldogs used seven different players in the match.

Ferris State next hosts Tiffin on Friday (Sept. 9) for a 3 p.m. (ET) league home encounter before facing Wayne State on Saturday (Sept. 10) at 11 a.m. (ET) in Big Rapids.
