Women's Tennis Drops Close Decision In Second Semester Opener

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team embarked on second semester action, but came out on the short end of a 5-4 decision versus Davenport in non-league play on Sunday (Feb. 17) at the MVP Fieldhouse in Rockford, Mich.

The Bulldogs trailed 2-1 following the doubles round and could not make up the difference in singles play.

Ferris State received singles triumphs from Ana Jan, Janie Sell and Anne Smudz as the two teams combined to split the six singles flights.

In doubles action, the Bulldogs' lone win came from the tandem of Laurence LeBlanc and Sell at the number two flight.

With the setback, the Bulldogs dropped to 11-8 overall this season under first-year head coach Chad Berryhill.
