Big Rapids, Mich. - After a close win on Saturday, the Ferris State University women's tennis team could not duplicate the feat as the Bulldogs suffered a 6-3 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) loss to visiting Findlay on Sunday (Sept. 15) in wrapping up a three-match weekend homestand at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.
The Bulldogs fell to 3-3 overall and in conference action with the home setback.
Findlay took two of the three doubles flights in building the early lead. After FSU tied the match up at two wins apiece, the Oilers were able to close out the victory by taking spots two thru five in the singles lineup.
FSU's singles wins came from senior Ana Jan at the number one flight in straight-sets along with Jessica Wilcox at the sixth position by a score of 6-2, 6-2. The Bulldogs also received their lone doubles triumph at the third flight as Janie Sell and Sydney Berens teamed up for an 8-4 win.
Ferris State visits league rival Northwood on Tuesday, Sept. 17, for a 2 p.m. (ET) league encounter in Midland. FSU will then return home for three more consecutive matches at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center against Saginaw Valley State, Michigan Tech and Lake Superior State starting on Thursday.
