Ferris State Women's Tennis Falls Narrowly In Setback At Tiffin

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad could not quite complete a weekend road sweep as the Bulldogs suffered a 5-4 setback to Tiffin on Sunday (Oct. 5) in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play at Tiffin, Ohio.

The host Dragons took the bottom two doubles matches to post a 2-1 edge heading into the singles round and then managed to split the six singles flights to record the victory.

Ferris State battled back with wins at the numbers two, four and five singles positions, but Tiffin was able to earn wins at the one, three and six spots.

The Bulldog tandem of Noelly Longi Nsimba and Olga Martinsone were victorious at the top doubles spot by an 8-6 score.

Meanwhile, in singles competition, FSU received wins from Longi Nsimba in addition to Martinsone and Celia De Bondt.

With the setback, FSU fell to 6-3 overall and 5-3 in the GLIAC. The Dragons improved to 7-4 overall and 5-4 in league play.
