Women's Tennis Rolls Past Ashland In Earning Saturday Sweep

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 sweep over visiting Ashland to cap a three-match weekend homestand in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on Saturday (Oct. 11) in Big Rapids.

The Bulldogs won all three doubles flights against the winless Eagles at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in jumping out to the early advantage and then completed the sweep by taking all six singles flights.

Ferris State's wins in singles play included a pair of third-set tiebreakers along with a win by retirement at the fourth singles position.

A total of seven different players saw action in the convincing win for the Bulldogs, who improved to 8-4 overall and 7-4 in league play.

Ashland fell to 0-11 overall and 0-10 in the GLIAC with the setback.
