Ferris State Wraps Up Busy Tennis Weekend Against Division I Western Michigan

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team wrapped up a busy weekend by squaring off against NCAA Division I Western Michigan on Sunday (March 1), but the Bulldogs came out on the short end of a 7-0 decision at the West Hills Athletic Club in Kalamazoo.

The Broncos managed to pull off the sweep as FSU played its third match in as many days following a pair of home contests on Friday and Saturday.

Western Michigan took the second and third doubles flights while the first went unfinished as the doubles round counted as a single point in the team score per NCAA-I regulations.

In singles action, WMU earned the victory by taking all six positions in straight-sets as FSU fell to 13-7 overall this year. The Broncos improved to 5-5 with the win.

The Bulldogs will begin their annual spring break trip next Sunday (March 8) as they face Eckerd in St. Petersburg, Fla., starting at 11 a.m. (ET). Overall, FSU will play five matches in Florida during Ferris State's spring break period.
